Casey Scheidegger

#BetweenTheSheets With Casey Scheidegger
Olympic trials experience, grand slam champion and....Christmas rapid fire

The sport of curling has been an interesting one to watch during the 2017 calendar year.  We have seen favourites go on storied runs towards championship glory.  We have seen a few teams stumble along the path to success.  And we have have watched the evolution of the #TeamUpset movement.

A skip serving as flag bearer for the movement and waving the #TeamUpset flag with pride is Alberta's Casey Scheidegger.  What a 2017 this team is having!  As the 2016 year came to a close the team had competed in the Tour Challenge Tier II event and picked up a few big wins on tour.  When the calendar flipped over, Team Scheidegger planted the #TeamUpset flag on the button picking up their first grand slam title, The Meridian Canadian Open, in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.

The win catapulted the team from Roar to the Rings Olympic pre-trials dark horse conversation to Roar of the Rings team to watch out for.  And now, Casey Scheidegger is welcomed with open arms into the #TwineTime family.

Don't let the soft smile on the ice and hugs with her little man after the game fool you folks.  Scheidegger is a competitor and is ready to take 2018 by storm.  Sure the Olympic trials did not work out as hoped, more on that in the interview below, but the hunger for Scotties success is rumbling louder than ever.

A teacher off the ice, Scheidegger moves from the curling rink house to her own home as a proud mother and wife.  The juggling of professional, personal and athletic lives is never easy but, as Scheidegger explains, strong support and the love and passion from those around her help make the transition seamless.

Go #BetweenTheSheets with the newest member of the #TwineTime family, Casey Scheidegger.  Oh and hear a special Christmas-themed Rapid Fire question round where we find out Scheidegger's favourite Christmas tradition, favourite holiday song and favourite reindeer (who just could be the sweeper on Santa's team).

The perfect interview to end the 2017 calendar year and to celebrate the holiday season I would say rock heads and stones.  If you have been following this blog since it's inception you would know #TwineTime is a huge fan of Scheidegger and her team.  As our parents always told us when we were younger awaiting for Santa to come visit our house Christmas Eve, all good things come to those who wait.  This holds true for welcoming Scheidegger into the #TwineTime blog family.  It took some time and scheduling but we were able to make it happen and the end result is pure gold!  Thank you once again Casey and all the best in 2018.

With the holiday season and bringing to a close another year on this spinning rock we call Earth, the #TwineTime blog would like to wish each and every one of you loyal readers/listeners a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings and Happy New Year!

Bring on 2018....and #StayTuned for the Top #TwineTime stories of 2017 Countdown!!
