#Top8 of '18

#BetweenTheSheets: Top 8 of '18
Which #TwineTime blog posts were the most read this year?

Well that 2018 curling rock sure went sailing through the house fast didn't it? Is it just me or does every year seem to go by quicker and quicker? Or maybe that is just my age catching up to me? Hmmm, either way here we are on the final day of 2018 already looking back on the year that was and anticipating the year that will be.

In fine New Year's Eve tradition, we cannot ring in the new year without a countdown right? You have been hearing Top 100 music countdowns this week. Top 10 movies of the year. Top 10 artists of the year. Top 10 sports stories of the year. World Curling Federation released their top curling story of the year this morning (hint: Mira"curl" on Ice).

The #TwineTime blog is no exception. The tradition started in 2016 with the Top 6 and continued last year with the Top 7 of '17. Now we bring on the Top 8 of '18.

Wait, does this mean I have to do the Top 20 of '20 in two years?

#BetweenTheSheets: GSOC Regional Rotation?
Plus UPDATED #PowerRankings with a NEW #1?

A time was had in Conception Bay South, NL last weekend folks. If you tuned in to any of the TV games you saw an impressive and knowledgeable curling crowd. Tune in to a game when home province favourite Brad Gushue was playing and it brought back memories of the Brier in St. John's.

This has to be what the Grand Slam of Curling and Sportsnet envision moving forward. This is the atmosphere the players love competing in. This is the environment curling fans want to sit in when attending curling events live. This is what fans watching at home across the nation (and the world) want to see and hear.

So why is it not happening at every slam event?

#BetweenTheSheets: Boost National Preview
The second major of the #gsoc season hits the ice in Conception Bay, NL

Is it just me or did 2018 feel like an overthrown curling stone sliding right through the house? Can you believe we are at the point of the season where we watch the final Grand Slam of Curling event for the calendar year? It doesn't feel that long ago when we were watching the 2018 Canadian Open to kick-start the calendar either. Time really does fly when you are having fun.

But alas here we are back in the holiday season and ready to crown our second #gsoc major champion of the 2018/19 curling season. It's going to be a time in Conception Bay, NL folks.

#BetweenTheSheets: The Return to Work
The blog is back with UPDATED #PowerRankings and hot topics

He's BAAAAAACCCKKKKK!!

Vacation time is over rock heads and stoners and the time to return to work is upon us. The #TwineTime blog is back in the hack.

For the past month the blog has been on a hiatus as I travelled around Europe. From learning about Nazi history in Germany to discovering stunning architecture in Czech Republic to enjoying a late night out at a shooter bar in the Netherlands, the mental health break for #EuroBdayTrip 2018 was much needed and welcomed. Not to mention throwing in a curling bucket list item of attending my first European Curling Championship in Tallinn, Estonia. Thanks again to World Curling Federation for allowing this blog to be part of the fun.

But all good things must come to an end friends. Vacation is over. We must return to our regularly scheduled program. And boy do we have a lot of catch up on....
